Stories on Stage – Fall ’26
Lean into the power of live storytelling.
Do you have a true, personal story you’d like to share on stage but are unsure of how or where to begin?
For some, it may seem like a daunting experience of telling your truths on stage in front of strangers, but it doesn’t have to be. There is special power in vulnerably expressing your true, first-person stories of joy, pain, struggles, and victories, reminding us of our shared humanity, which brings connection between performer and the audience in the most magical of ways. It can also be a very cathartic and empowering experience for the storyteller.
Come build your confidence and connect with community in this special three-week class, which focuses on the following:
- Week 1 – Brainstorming & identifying your story
- Week 2 – Sharing your draft & getting feedback on your story
- Week 3 – Rehearsing & performing your story
The class leads up to Project Write Now’s Firefly: Stories On Stage live storytelling event (which will be held at Two River Theater on Tuesday, November 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m.), where class attendees are invited to drop their name in the hat for a chance to be called on stage and share a true, first-person story on the related topic.
No writing or performing experience necessary.

Meredith Z. Avakian believes in the importance of both living and telling a great story. Meredith is a writer, spoken word poet, keynote speaker, storyteller, conscious communicator and community connector, as well as the author of Propaganda Begins with PR: Poetry for the Soul and PRhyme Time: Power of Poetry. Additionally, Meredith is director of community outreach and engagement at Project Write Now, where she is an instructor too. Meredith received her Bachelor’s degree in public relations from Temple University and spent the last 20+ years specializing in strategic communications, public relations and community outreach.
