Stick Season Writers Retreat

Join Project Write Now for our inaugural writing retreat November 19 through 22 at Prospect Street Writers House in North Bennington, Vermont.

FULL: The retreat is currently full, and we are no longer accepting applications. If you’d like to be put on a waiting list, please email us at pwnwriters@projectwritenow.org.

Stick Season in Vermont is that brief, beautiful stretch after the leaves fall and before the snow arrives—bare branches, cold air, and a hushed quiet that practically begs you to write.

Six spots. Four days. One beautiful writers’ house.

Nestled in the Green Mountains, this intimate four-day getaway is for writers who are ready to step away from the noise and get serious about their work. You write, share, walk, talk craft, and eat well—all in the company of fellow writers who get it.

How to Apply

Space is limited to six participants. A short application is required—we want to know a little about you and what you’re working on. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so don’t wait on this one.

FULL: The retreat is currently full, and we are no longer accepting applications. If you’d like to be put on a waiting list, please email us at pwnwriters@projectwritenow.org.

We’ve kept this retreat as affordably priced as possible. Please note that financial assistance and discounts aren’t available for this program.

Our organization was founded to help amplify the voices of those who are often not heard—including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other historically marginalized groups. We have witnessed how writing and sharing stories has the power to effect change by generating greater love, compassion, and empathy in the listener. In all of our programs, we provide an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment. We do not tolerate writing and/or behavior that perpetuates harmful stereotypes or fuels hate. Failure to align with our philosophy can result in your removal from class.
