This intimate virtual gathering brings together writers at every stage of their journey to share their craft. Our literary salon features a celebrated guest author alongside three voices from our vibrant writing community.

Featured Reader: Beth Ann Fennelly
Beth Ann Fennelly
served as Poet Laureate of Mississippi from 2016 to 2021 and teaches in the MFA program at the University of Mississippi, where she is a four-time teaching award winner. Her collection Heating & Cooling: 52 Micro-Memoirs combines the compression of poetry with the truth-telling of nonfiction, and reviewers credit her with founding, or at least popularizing, the micro-memoir form. Her most recent book, The Irish Goodbye: Micro-Memoirs, published by W. W. Norton in February 2026, weaves longer essays about friendship, family, and loss with sections of flash nonfiction that capture the small, interstitial moments of a richly lived life. She lives in Oxford, Mississippi, with her husband and three children.

Paul Deykerhoff came to the United States as a five-year-old unable to speak any English. Somehow, years later, he found himself immersed in a long career in book publishing, most of it in the hallowed halls of Penguin Random House. Surrounded by creative colleagues and fortunate to meet many esteemed authors, he deepened his love for reading and the printed word. Paul is now devoted to writing his family history for his children, grandkids, and anyone else who will listen. An avid, lifelong runner who has finished nine marathons, he believes that writing may require more stamina and fortitude than running, but he happily continues to grind away.
Jackie Domenus
(they/she) is a queer, gender nonconforming writer from South Jersey. Their first book, No Offense: A Memoir in Essays (ELJ Editions), was a finalist for a Publishing Triangle Award and was named a notable small press book of 2025 by Literary Hub. Jackie’s work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has appeared in HuffPost, Autostraddle, The Normal School, Foglifter Journal, and elsewhere. They earned an MA in writing from Rowan University and have served in several editorial and publishing roles with literary magazines and journals. Jackie previously taught high school English and now works as the program director for fellowships at Mid Atlantic Arts. They also host the new Queer & Trans Nonfiction Podcast.
Jennifer Gallo Gaites
is a writing instructor at Project Write Now, a nonprofit writing organization. She is working on a novel and writes essays about identity and motherhood. Her work has been published in Riverteeth‘s “Beautiful Things,” WOW! Women on Writing, Hippocampus, and Literary Mama. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s either asking her college-aged kids too many questions or trying to understand her middle schooler’s obsession with YouTube. She lives in Fair Haven, NJ, with her husband and three children.

Our organization was founded to help amplify the voices of those who are often not heard—including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other historically marginalized groups. We have witnessed how writing and sharing stories has the power to effect change by generating greater love, compassion, and empathy in the listener.
